Monkey Wave soft-launched in the Netherlands on 9 May 2025 and launched worldwide on iOS and Android on 25 May 2025. The Steam demo came out on 1 June 2026 and the full game was released on Steam on 21 July 2026.

Yes. Survival and Boss Rush can be played together with a friend in co-op: you play as a team, each player brings one ability and bosses have double HP. In Versus you play against each other (1v1). Multiplayer is cross-platform.

From player level 20 you can equip a second ability in Survival and Boss Rush.

It depends on the situation. Freeze stops everything, Emergency Drop adds fruit, Lightning is strong against bosses and groups, and Overgrowth heals fruit and distracts monkeys. See the abilities guide for a full comparison.
